Simple Bassinet Quilt Kits

If you are planning on making a newborn baby their first Quilt, a Bassinet sized quilt is a good size to make. A Bassinet is usually a baby's first bed. With this in mind I wouldn't recommend actualy 'using' the Quilt for a sleeping baby because it raises the risk of SIDS. Sorry for being so practical!

You can still make a beautiful handmade Bassinet Quilt and it can be used to in the nursery to decorate a chair and use to put on the baby in to keep warm while the baby is being cuddled. The Quilt can be used as a 'play quilt', going out 'pram quilt' or use it as a 'special quilt' for a baby's Christening.

I currently have two Bassinet Quilt Kits available. Little Boy Blue for a baby boy & Pretty in Pink for a baby girl. I am planning a third Quilt which will be a unisex quilt (yet to be named).

On this page you can find information about the Little Boy Blue Quilt & Pretty In Pink Quilt. I will do a 'shout-out' on the Sew Handmade Facebook page when the third  Quilt is ready to be released.

Each Bassient Quilt Kits comes with everything you will need to make the Quilt you select.

Beside the image of the Little Boy Blue Quilt  & Pretty In Pink Quilt pictured below, is a detailed list of all items included in each Kit.

There is a free Tutorial with step by step instructions on how to make your Bassinet Quilt on this Website. Here is the link to the Tutorial below:-

Skill Level: You will need to know how to work a 'straight stitch' on a sewing machine and there is some hand stitching involved. It is a good Quilt for a beginner as it teaches how to piece a quilt togther, simple applique techniques and basic quilting.
